The most recent activities of
the Committee have been made possible by support received from several sponsors
who are gratefully acknowledged
Some national committees for International Geoscience Programme standardly have their own budgets, even though these
budgets are usually very modest. Since 1996 one of the aims of the Czech
National Committee for IGCP is therefore to provide a support service for
members of the Czech IGCP working groups who may have limited or no financial
sources. These contributions help to organization of local IGCP meetings,
conferences and workshops, as well as cover the travel expenses of the active
members (lectures at international conferences). Simply said, this activity
aims to support these IGCP members who significantly contribute to the credit
of the Czech geosciences on the international platform. Based on the yearly
competitions in the past decade, about 100 contributions with an average amount
of 10,000 CZK were provided. This effort is successfully continued due to
sponsorship by several companies and organizations. We would like to thank them
all for their continuing support and sponsorship, both in the past and at the
present time.
